The African elephant is a large than Asian elephant. They weight bout more than 6 tons which is 12,000 pounds. Talking about their height, an African elephant is 12 ft tall up to their shoulders. The trunk of an African elephant is about 7 ft long. Their trunk is a useful component in their life style.

How they defend themselves?

They use their trunk to make a huge sound. This is done to scare the predators from their way. it is a good method of safety for the African elephants.

The African elephant lives in the African continent. What do elephant eat differs because of the place they live, African elephants eat only things they can find easily in their atmosphere. Luckily they are herbivorous so trees, plants and fruits can be found easily in African continent. 

What do elephant eat actually? They eat leaves of trees, roots of trees which they removed by themselves, any types of fruits, juicy plants, plants with lot of fiber in it, long grasses and they ever prefer to eat bark. As a common fact on what do elephant eat, it is said that any kind of elephant love and prefer to eat vegetation which is sweet in taste and sugary. They love the taste of sugar. What do elephant eat differs by their age. Small elephants eat small amount of food per day, adult elephants eat a mass amount of food.
